SAEL Industries Ltd has broken ground on its integrated solar manufacturing facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, through its wholly owned subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Pvt Ltd (SSP6PL).
The foundation stone was laid in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Spread across 200 acres in Sector 8 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Gautam Buddha Nagar, the project will house an integrated manufacturing unit with an annual capacity of 5 GW each for solar cells and solar
modules. The facility is being developed with an initial investment of INR 8,200 crore and will produce high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells and modules once operational.
Sukhbir Singh, co-founder and director of SAEL Industries Ltd, said the project represents a step towards strengthening India’s energy self-reliance. He added that Uttar Pradesh’s rapid industrial growth and ambition to become a $1 trillion economy make it an ideal location for the investment, while thanking the state government, YEIDA, and other stakeholders for their support.
Laxit Awla, CEO and Executive Director of SAEL Industries Ltd, said the Jewar facility reflects the company’s confidence in India’s renewable energy sector and Uttar Pradesh’s growing position as a manufacturing hub. He noted that the project will support the domestic solar supply chain while generating economic opportunities for the region.
