Foxconn and Poland collaborate on electric vehicle manufacturing: PM Tusk

Foxconn and Poland collaborating on electric vehicle manufacturing and sustainable mobility initiatives

Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that the country’s state-backed automotive venture will partner with Taiwanese technology company Foxconn to manufacture hundreds of thousands of vehicles each year for both the Polish and wider European markets.

Tusk said the government plans to conclude discussions with Foxconn this autumn to establish a manufacturing hub in Jaworzno, southern Poland. The facility is expected to become part of a broader industrial and technology ecosystem in the region.

He added that the Poland government will invest 4.5 billion zlotys (around €1.1 billion) in the project. The planned facility is designed to produce up to 400,000 midsize electric SUVs annually, with the joint venture holding exclusive rights to market and sell the vehicles across Europe.

As part of its push into the electric vehicle sector, Foxconn has also been expanding its partnerships with automakers. Earlier this year, the company reached an agreement with Japan’s Mitsubishi Group to strengthen its presence in the EV market.

Meanwhile, ElectroMobility CEO Cyprian Gronkiewicz told the Poland parliament last week that construction of the new manufacturing facility is expected to begin in the spring of 2027.
