Interviewee: Dennis Chung, Sales Manager of Heilind Asia Pacific
Question 1: How did Heilind establish its presence in Asia, and what has the journey been like so far ?
Heilind entered Asia with a clear strategy: build a strong foundation in key hubs and expand with long-term commitment. We first established our regional headquarters in Hong Kong, followed by offices in Singapore and Shanghai—locations that gave us access to fast-growing technology markets and close proximity to both customers and suppliers. Over the years, we have scaled rapidly while keeping service excellence at the core of our approach.
Today, Heilind operates 23 offices and 3 logistics hubs across Asia, including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and India. This extensive footprint enables localized support, faster response times, and resilient supply chains. The journey has been one of consistent growth—driven by strong supplier partnerships, customer trust, and our dedication to being the world’s leading authorized distributor of interconnect and fastener products.
Question 2: What are the key product categories driving demand in Asia right now ?
The strongest growth drivers are interconnect and related solutions. With Asia investing heavily in AI, data centers, electric vehicles, and 5G telecom, demand for connectors, cables, sensors, and related hardware is surging. Interconnects are the backbone of these technologies, enabling high-speed data transfer, reliable power management, and robust system performance.
Through strong partnerships with leading manufacturers such as TE Connectivity, Molex, and Amphenol, Heilind delivers cutting-edge solutions tailored to these high-growth applications. As an interconnect specialist, our role is to help customers select the right products, ensure design-in success, and secure availability through effective inventory programs.
Question 3: What challenges do you see in the Indian electronics distribution space, and how is Heilind addressing them ?
India’s electronics sector is expanding rapidly but continues to face challenges such as supply chain constraints, tariff implications, and the need for localized support. Customers often encounter long lead times and complex import processes.
Heilind addresses these challenges by leveraging our Asia-wide stocking network and positioning inventory in strategic hubs like Singapore and Hong Kong to support Indian customers. At the same time, we are expanding our local presence in New Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bangalore, ensuring support is closer to customers. By combining global scale with local agility, we provide world-class products and service without delays.
Question 4: What are Heilind India’s short-term and long-term growth priorities ?
In the short term, our priority is to strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers in high-growth segments such as EV, aerospace & defense, telecom, and semiconductors. We are investing in people, training, and customer engagement to build trust and accelerate design-in opportunities.
In the long term, our vision is to establish Heilind as the most reliable interconnect and fasteners distributor in India—recognized for service excellence, technical expertise, and robust supply chain support. By aligning closely with global partners and continuing to expand our local capabilities, we are well positioned to support India’s transformation into a global electronics hub.
