At Digilent, we’re all about bridging the gap between electrical engineering theory and practice. Our versatile new Analog Discovery Studio Max partnered with the power of NI LabVIEW can create a dynamic and engaging learning experience for undergraduate students.
Hands-On Exploration Made Accessible
The core of this learning experience is the Analog Discovery Studio Max (ADS Max), a powerful platform that combines multiple essential lab instruments into a single device. By integrating it with a user-friendly LabVIEW interface, we’ve created an environment that encourages experimentation and discovery.
Students will be able to:
- Quickly set up experiments:The ADS Max connects easily, and our LabVIEW interface provides a clear and intuitive way to control the instruments and acquire data.
- Visualize results instantly:See the impact of component values and circuit configurations on performance in real-time graphs and measurements.
- Compare theoretical predictions with real-world data:Reinforce their understanding by seeing how their calculations align with actual circuit behavior.
Key Benefits for Students and Educators:
- Versatile Hardware: The ADS Max provides a comprehensive set of tools for a wide range of electrical engineering experiments.
- Practical Application: Focuses on real-world circuit analysis, specifically filter design and analysis.
- Intuitive Software Integration: NI LabVIEW provides a graphical programming environment that simplifies instrument control and data acquisition.
- Real-time Feedback: Students see the immediate impact of their changes, fostering a deeper understanding of circuit behavior.
- Enhanced Data Visualization: LabVIEW clearly displays measured data alongside theoretical expectations, aiding in comprehension.
- Increased Software Proficiency: Introduces students to the power and flexibility of industry-standard software like LabVIEW.
Designed for Effective Engineering Education:
- Undergraduate Electrical Engineering Students:Providing essential practical experience.
- Electrical Engineering Educators: Offering an engaging and effective lab activity.
- Anyone Interested in Hands-On Electronics:Providing a practical introduction to circuit analysis.
By providing a tangible and interactive way to explore fundamental electrical engineering principles, we aim to empower the next generation of innovative engineers with the practical skills they need to succeed.
A little known facts on Analog Discovery Studio Max
In less than 120 words, when Digilent makes a cheaper version of the ELVIS III, what can you expect?
An advanced Analog Discovery Studio now with:
– Double the Oscilloscope channels (now four) with 50 MHz of bandwidth
– Double the Canvas size for more in-depth possibilities
– Integrated DMM and IV Analyzer
Compared to NI ELVIS III,ADS Max does not have followings:
– No direct measurements for 8 additional slow analog inputs
– Only 16/24 controllable high speed I/O, not 16 high speed and 40 slow speed I/O
– No Ethernet nor NI Linux Real-Time OS
