Racetrack memory research points to materials breakthrough

Researchers from the University of Glasgow and Leeds have been working on a faster, higher capacity and low power consumption way of data storage. This team has been working on this platform , under which the electricity that will be passing through the lines of stationary nanowires will create a domain wall like the spaces between the wires that can store the data in it. The main key question still persist that what material would be used for the same.

The team from the Glasgow will be working over the electron microscopy that will look at the structure of the films that will suffer from the platinum ,aluminum and the cobalt links. The test performed on this layer has shown that the data allows the spinning electrodes that will be travelling at the speed along with the nanowires
