Freescale  has released the QorlQ LS1043A residential gateway, that is  claimed to be the industry’s first 10Gbit/s Internet and 10Gbit/s Wi-Fi enabled home gateway solution that will be aiming at driving multi gigabit broadband.

S1043A was developed in collaboration with Quantenna Communications. It features a quad-core processor that is 64 bit ARMv8 technology 10G Wave 3 802.11ac Wi-Fi product family. This device will be delivering 1.6 GHz of range and would dissipate power to 5W, which is perfectly suitable for home based broadband gateway applications, supporting next generation  equipment such as Fibre and xDSL residential gateways, branch routers, security appliances and SND/NFV edge platforms.

Nikolay Guenov, director of Product Management for Freescale’s Digital Networking group sait ” We promise to deliver 10G wave 3 Wi-Fi products that were previously only related to high domain enterprises, we would provide Unique , power efficient, multi gigabit performance at home.
