China IC Industry worth $12.5 bn

According to the recent reports China made $12.5bn worth IC’s last year. China Semiconductor Industry Association announced that it has made $5bn from IC design, $3.7bn from IC fabrication and $3.8bn from packaging and testing.

It has all together invested $10bn as being the largest memory market and buys 75% of global memory.

Most of the Chinese IC companies are relying over parent companies they are partly state owned companies, with almost no self existence independently. As the parent company of Nari Smart-chip Microelectronics is a part  of State Grid, with main products smart meter ICs.

Some of the Non-state-owned large enterprises Huawei, ZTE, Datang Telecom and SMIC Microelectronics act as the backbones of Hisilicon, ZXIC, Leadcore Technology and Galaxycore respectively. Further some of the  independent IC companies are Spreadtrum, RDA and Rockchip.
