Coming off an outstanding performance last season, hopes are high for the Mouser Electronics-sponsored Faraday Future Dragon Racing Formula E Team as they gear up for the 2016–17 season opener on Oct. 9 in Hong Kong. Dragon’s Jerome D’Ambrosio finished the season’s final race in London in third, followed by teammate Loic Duval in fourth. The team placed fourth for the 2015-16 season.

Mouser is a proud sponsor of the 2016–17 Faraday Future Dragon Racing team in collaboration with TTI, Inc. and valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic. The upcoming season marks the third consecutive year that Mouser Electronics is sponsoring Formula E racing, a high-tech sport that is paving the way for future automotive technologies.

“By sponsoring the Faraday Future Dragon Racing team, we are aligning Mouser with the future of racing and the leading edge of automotive technology,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President, Americas Business Development for Mouser Electronics. “We are very excited to be teaming up with Molex, Panasonic and TTI, and we look forward to another thrilling season.”

Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into a Formula E car is all about precision and performance, the sponsorship is the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading partners, McAtee added.

“With our support of the Formula E program, TTI is excited to join in the pursuit of sustainable automotive technologies of the future,” stated Mike Morton, President, TTI Global Sales and Marketing.

Formula E features cars powered exclusively by electric power and represents a vision for the future of the motor sports industry, serving as a framework for research and development around the electric vehicle. Valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic are continuing their sponsorship of the program.

“Molex is very proud to once again sponsor the Faraday Future Dragon team along with Mouser, TTI and Panasonic,” said Fred Bell, Vice President of Global Distribution for Molex. “We know that through teamwork and technology, amazing feats are possible and we anticipate a tremendous racing season with these talented drivers.”

Jeff Howell, President of Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America, commented, “This exciting undertaking is proof that electric vehicles are not only energy efficient but can offer high performance. Panasonic is very pleased to be part of developing this new technology.”

This season, the Formula E racing series will expand to 14 rounds at 12 venues, with new races in Hong Kong, Marrakesh, Brussels, Montreal and New York City, while the Monaco ePrix will return to the calendar after a one-year absence.
