Snapdeal launches automobile category; targets $2 bn GMV

The online market retailer Snapdeal is currently targeting on the gross merchandise value $2 billion that it will be getting from the sale of cars and two wheelers in the next up coming two years by the launch of its latest exclusive automobile platform. Accordingly in December 2014 the Snapdeal Motors has launched it in the year to introduce the n=bikes and cars sale .  Tony Navin who is the senior Vice President of the Snapdeal at a  conference said that ” we have been noticing a high demand of the automobile category. Our platform has been successful in selling around 300,000 bikes after the launch in te partnership of Hero and others. Amongst with around 57% buyers were the first time buyers. ”

The company has made tie ups with Hero Moto corp, Piaggio, Suzuki and Datsun and are planning to expands its brand listing in the months ahead. Snapdeals motors will also be helping their customers to arrange loans quickly and easily. This platform will be working as transparent film between the customer and the bikes.   It will also offer colour availability to the customers and they can collect their vehicle from the dealers store.
