French defence minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit India soon as the two nations work towards concluding the arrangement for 36 Rafale warrior planes.
Protection sources said French Defense Minister is liable to touch base in India soon to convey forward the discussions on the Rafale planes. They didn’t put a timetable for his visit.
Drian went to India a month ago also.
Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar had a month ago said that discussions would be finished inside of “2-3 months”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reported his choice to purchase 36 Rafale warrior planes amid a visit to France in April, an arrangement worth around US$ 8 billion.
The administration has set up a panel headed via Air Marshal S B P Sinha who is embraced the legislature to-government transactions with France for obtainment of Rafale contender planes for the Indian Air Force.
India has chosen to purchase just 36 Rafale contender planes scrapping the prior arrangement to obtain 126 of the French airplane on grounds of colossal expense.
Parrikar had termed as “monetarily unviable” the past UPA government’s US$ 20 billion arrangement for the buy of 126 Rafale contenders over three years after France’s Dassault Aviation was pronounced the most minimal bidder.
He has said the UPA bargain for 126 Rafales was far excessively lavish and it would have hampered other modernisation arrangements of the Indian military.
