Low-power AC/DC converters from RECOM

RAC03E-15SK_277_RD

Power components for industry and consumer devices.

RAC02E and RAC03E series from Recom are AC/DC converters for THT mounting, enclosed in a low-profile 15.4 mm hermetic enclosure. Their power is (respectively) 2 W and 3 W. The products are designed for industrial and IoT (internet of things) devices, building automation applications, and consumer devices.

This type of inverter is primarily used to supply electronic circuits and electromechanical components with low current requirements (max. 900mA) directly from the mains, i.e., with voltages from 100 V to 277 V AC (this makes it possible to use these inverters in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas). It should be noted that the minimum/maximum input voltages are 85V and 305V for AC (47-63Hz) and 120V to 430 V DC. The products offer good input to output isolation (4 kV AC). As they are adapted to electronic systems operating inside and outside buildings, , they can operate in environments with a wide temperature range (from -40°C to 85°C), and deliver 100% of its rated output power load up to 70°C (derating linearly to 60% above this temperature).

Another advantage of the devices is their good value for money in terms of quality, capabilities, and size; therefore they will be the right choice when designing electronic circuits for high-volume production. This is also due to the fact that the manufacturer pays special attention to international certifications. The devices are compliant with the IEC 62368-1 standard (and the related Canadian standard CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1) which specifies key features of electrical/electronic devices in the fields of home appliances, consumer electronics, IT (computers, laptops), telecommunications (including Ethernet network elements, e.g., routers), and office machines (shredders, printers, scanners, etc.). According to the EN 55032 standard, the RAC02E/RAC03E converters comply with EMC class “B” requirements, i.e., they are immune to electromagnetic interference occurring in residential/domestic environments and do not emit disturbances that would unduly affect equipment in their environment.
