Compact Cincon switching power supplies and converters

Cincon_RD

AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies.

One of the most well-developed branches in the TME catalogue are power supplies – especially DC/DC and AC/DC converters. Each project requires a precisely designed/selected power supply system, because the applied solution will largely determine not only the correct operation of the entire device, but also its service life and failure-free operation. Converters also play a key role in precision electronics, e.g. circuits using high frequency communication interfaces.

Below we present three series of products from a proven and trusted supplier: Cincon. These are compact converters that supply standard DC voltages (5V, 12V, etc.) to the powered equipment. They have been adapted for use in a number of applications (including industry, consumer electronics, and ICT), where they prove to be a key component of power supply systems. Their main advantages include a wide input voltage range, good thermal performance and a high power-to-volume ratio (power density).

CQB75-300S series

CQB75-300S contains miniature DC/DC converters with input voltages ranging from 180 VDC to 450 VDC (rectified mains supply). These are dedicated to devices that require 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, or 48 V DCto operate, easy to implement (robust case, through hole mounting, threaded mounting holes) and equipped with a number of protections: over-temperature protection (OTP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The inverters have a nominal power rating of 75 W and are designed to be connected in parallel (external components such as blocking diodes are required), allowing the load to be shared (even when not exceeding the rating of the stand-alone unit) for higher currents.

Quarter brick case with leads for through-hole mounting.

The converters are designed to work in a wide range of applications, from telecommunications and IT, to battery-powered systems and industrial equipment. The products meet the MIL-STD-810F military specification that covers shock testing requirements and their characteristics comply with the EN 45545 fire safety standard.

CFM260S series

CFM260S120B

Compact AC/DC converter with a footprint of 101.6mm by 50.8mm.

The CFM260S series open frame power supplies are 260 W AC/DC converters. They are designed for devices powered with input voltages ranging from 85 V to 264 V AC. They provide a stable current source (up to 18.34 A) for applications requiring 12, 24, 36, or 48 V DC (accuracy ± 1%). Connection is made by means of plugs with a snap-in mechanism. The transducer circuit has a separate output to power a 12-volt fan (3.6 W max). It will be required at a constant load close to the maximum capacity of the power supply – nevertheless, the CFM260S series products can operate at temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. The optimum operating environment should not exceed 40°C or 50°C with assisted airflow (nominal performance is given for 25°C). The products are also fitted with over temperature protection and are protected against short circuit at the output. The efficiency of the converters ranges from 92% – 93.5%, depending on the model and operating conditions. Typical no load power consumption <200mW.

The products meet the requirements of standards for power supplies for consumer electronic devices, telecommunications, and computer equipment: EN 55032 class B (electromagnetic immunity and emission requirements) and IEC/EN/ UL62368 and IEC/EN60335 (safety standards). The power supplies are capable of operating up to an altitude of 5000m .
CFM500M series

The CFM500M switching power supplies (converters) are characterised by higher power (500W) and efficiency (up to 95.5%) than the series described above. They are characterized by a compact design and the highest power density available. In addition to an independent output for a fan to support cooling (recommended for power above 470 W), they have a 5 V DC output (up to 1A) for to power devices in stand-by mode: the power supply provides current on this line even when the inverter has been switched off by an external signal (remote switch-off function). In addition, a high or low state is set on a dedicated pin, which indicates correct operation. CFM500M products are characterized by a low inrush current – they are also equipped with an active power factor correction (PFC) system meeting the requirements of EN 61000-3-2. CINCON converters are therefore economical and comply with European standards, including those for mains-operated household appliances.

CFM500M180

CFM500M series with small dimensions and high power of 500W.
