Saelig Unveils EECL DIV-100-10-SQ High-Precision 100MHz to 10MHz Frequency Divider Module

Saelig EECL DIV-100-10-SQ high-precision 100MHz to 10MHz frequency divider module for timing and measurement applications.

Ultra-low phase noise and additive jitter deliver seamless frequency conversion for demanding test and measurement applications.

Saelig Company, Inc. has announced the EECL DIV-100-10-SQ, a state-of-the-art frequency divider module designed to convert instrument reference signals down to with virtually zero increase in phase noise. Engineered for laboratory precision and ease of use, the DIV-100-10-SQ features a compact form factor that plugs directly onto an instrument’s BNC port, eliminating cable clutter and signal degradation.

Designed to bridge modern instrument outputs with legacy or specialized reference inputs, the DIV-100-10-SQ addresses a critical need in RF testing, satellite communications, and precision timing environments. By offering selectable sine or square wave outputs, engineers can tailor the module to match their specific receiver front-end requirements instantly, giving legacy 10MHz equipment a new life.

” A 100MHz to 10MHz frequency divider scales down its input frequency by 10 to output a precise 10MHz clock or sine wave reference. Standard digital counters can add phase noise, so the DIV-100-10-SQ was created to solve a common lab challenge—integrating high-frequency instrument references without degrading signal quality,” said the EECL team. “With ultra-low additive jitter and effortless USB power, it provides a seamless plug-and-play solution.”

The module works automatically when powered from USB and a side switch allows selection of a pure sine wave or a square wave output. This laboratory grade reference divider offers a high output power and operates with a broad range of input levels. It is 100% final performance tested for phase noise verification. The divider comes in a compact, shielded housing for ease of system integration into various applications.

Key Features & Technical Highlights

  • Ultra-Low Phase Noise: Phase noise performance below at offset, preserving reference signal purity.
  • Ultra-Low Additive Jitter: Ensures high-fidelity signal division without compromising system timing accuracy.
  • Selectable Output Waveform: Side-mounted switch for pure sine wave or square wave output.
  • Flexible Input: Accepts both sine and square wave inputs across a wide dynamic range from to .
  • Robust Output Power: Delivers a reliable output power terminated in .
  • Plug-and-Play Power: Powered standard via a USB port for simple operational integration.

Applications

  • Laboratory Clock Synchronization: High-precision frequency references often run at 100 MHz to minimize phase noise. However, standard benchtop equipment—such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc. typically standardize on a 10 MHz reference input/output. The divider bridges these two standards.
  • Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs) & Frequency Synthesizers: divide high-frequency VCOs to lower reference frequencies for phase detection and phase-lock loops.

Made in UK by European Engineering & Consultancy Ltd (EECL) which specializes in high-performance RF, microwave, and high-speed electronic solutions, the EECL DIV-100-10-SQ frequency divider module is available now from Saelig Company, Inc. EECL’s technical distributor.
