OMNIVISION has announced the availability of several new OVMed® ultra-thin medicalgrade LED cable modules designed for single-use endoscopes. The complete turnkey solutions combine an image sensor, wafer-level optics, illumination, and cabling into a single package, helping medical endoscope manufacturers reduce development time and accelerate product launches while maintaining cost efficiency.

The newly introduced modules support OCHTA, OCHFA, OCHSA, and OCH2B CameraCubeChip® devices. They are suitable for a wide range of medical endoscopy applications, including ophthalmology, ENT, pulmonary, cardiovascular, urology, gastroenterology, gynecology, spinal, and orthopedic procedures. The modules can be
integrated into devices such as ophthalmoscopes, bronchoscopes, angioscopes, nephroscopes, ureteroscopes, gastroscopes, colonoscopes, cystoscopes, hysteroscopes, laparoscopes, arthroscopes, and other specialized endoscopes.

Thomas Xu, Senior Medical Product Marketing Manager at OMNIVISION, noted that the medical industry is increasingly adopting smaller, high-resolution chip-on-tip endoscopes with LED illumination and ultra-thin cable modules for improved access during procedures. He added that manufacturers also require greater design flexibility for different endoscopy applications.

The OVMed® modules are medical-grade tested and produced in ISO 13485-certified facilities, supporting regulatory compliance and ensuring reliable performance in medical endoscopes.
