  • China shows a ‘particularly strong willingness to use adaptive practices in workflows’ increasing competitiveness;
  • Closer customer relationships shorten feedback loops that directly inform product development

Frenetic Electronics, the company that offers a pioneering web-based custom magnetics design platform, has signed an agreement with Szdore Electronics of Shenzhen, China, to provide local support for designers. The company sees that closer relationships with customers is critical for the adoption of its tools in engineering-driven markets. Feedback loops that directly inform product development are also shortened.

Explains Dr Chema Molina, founder and CEO of Frenetic: “Competitiveness increasingly depends on how quickly companies can adopt faster, more adaptive engineering approaches. Chinese companies especially are showing a particularly strong willingness to integrate new engineering workflows and design technologies into their development processes. This is why Frenetic sees Asia as a strategically important market for the future of power electronics design. While we already have clients in Asia, we have realized that local partners are crucial to increase our exposure and key to understanding the differences in their engineering challenges and delivering value where it matters most.”

Frenetic offers three main tools which seamlessly integrate with each other:

lFrenetic Magnetic Simulator — Core customization for transformers andinductors.Delivers fast, accurate magnetic simulations; custom core + winding configurations; loss & thermal modeling; and leakage inductance. Enables validation before prototyping.

lFrenetic Planar — Designand simulate planar transformers in minutes.Enables planar custom magnetics generation; delivers FEM and proprietary models, leakage inductance models, and capacitance calculations. Geometry and performance files can be exported

lAI Converter Assistant — an optional first step before custom magnetic design, helping engineers move from converter specifications to initial topology suggestions and early-stage design guidance; LTspice & KiCad export.

Many of Frenetic’s customers are working on increasingly demanding projects, driven by trends such as the rapid growth of data centres and the evolving role of semiconductors. Technologies like GaN and SiCenabling higher switching frequencies and greater efficiency, but also introducing new design challenges, particularly in terms of material behaviour, thermal management, and system complexity.As a result, the need for faster, more adaptive design tools has become more evident.

Comments Dr Molina: “As the pressure to reduce design time while maintaining reliability increases, AI can play a specific and well-defined role.Frenetic’s approach is to use AI as a layer that accelerates the initial phases of the workflow, helping engineers move more quickly from specifications to viable design directions.What we are building together with our customers will fundamentally change how people approach power electronics projects, making them faster, more accessible, and better informed.”
