Saelig Introduces MSR85 Reusable Temperature Data Logger for Cold Chains and Shipments down to -85°C

The robust and compact MSR85 data logger ensures reliable temperature monitoring for products transported or stored with dry ice. It is ideal for sensitive goods such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biological samples, tissues or enzymes that require a secure cold chain down to -85°C.

Saelig Company, Inc. has introduced the MSR85 Ultralow Temperature Logger, which, due to its replaceable ½ AA 3.6V battery and long operating life, can be used multiple times as a cost-effective and sustainable solution for cold chain monitoring. Using an internal PT1000 platinum temperature sensor, with an accurate measurement range of -85degC to +70degC, the MSR85 can store up to 32,000 measurements with 0.1degC resolution at preselected intervals (1/5/8/10/15/30/60/120 mins). Logging Start Delay can be set from 1 minute up to 45 days, and built-in LEDs show the loggers status.

Setting up the MSR85 is quite simple via a USB-C PC connection; before use, all required parameters such as alarm limits, measurement interval or time zone can be configured using the Configuration Tool. Recording is then started conveniently with the push of a button. After transport, recipients can immediately see an LED indication if hazardous threshold values have been exceeded. Once recording is stopped by pressing the unit’s button, the logger can be connected to a PC via USB; the MSR85 will then automatically generate tamper-proof PDF and CSV reports of all relevant data. The MSR85 temperature logger is EN 12830 certified for food and pharmaceutical logistics and complies with FDA 21 CFR Part 11.

The MSR85 is supplied with a 5-point calibration certificate and is safe for air, land, and sea transport; no special marking is required according to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) guidance. Housed in a 2” round, 1.8” thick, robust, temperature-resistant housing (IP67) made of polycarbonate/ABS, the MSR85 weighs only 1.5oz.

Made in Switzerland by MSR Electronics GmbH, specialists in designing miniaturized dataloggers for a broad range of uses, MSR85 loggers are available from Saelig, their US technical distributor.
