On Monday, Oct. 6, Amkor Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMKR) will host a groundbreaking ceremony to commemorate the beginning of construction on a semiconductor advanced packaging and test facility in north Peoria, AZ. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2028; upon completion of the multi-phase project, it will be the largest facility of its kind in the U.S.
The groundbreaking ceremony will include remarks by Amkor officials, as well as state, federal and local leaders, including: Amkor Chairman Susan Kim; Amkor President & CEO Giel Rutten; Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs; U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly; U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego; and Peoria Mayor Jason Beck, among others.
