Q1)  RECOM is known for its leadership in DC/DC and AC/DC power solutions. What key innovations are you currently focused on to stay ahead of the curve ?

At RECOM, innovation is at the heart of our growth. One of our latest breakthroughs is 3D Power Packaging® (3DPP)—a cutting-edge technology designed for low-power DC/DC converters. With 3DPP, we achieve exceptional power density and ultra-compact form factors, enabling best-in-class performance without the penalty of a large footprint.

Our newest assembly process ensures maximum power density and minimal footprints, resulting in modules that are significantly smaller than conventional power solutions.

Beyond miniaturization, we are also addressing cost competitiveness in markets such as India. By simplifying circuit design, optimizing component selection, and leveraging automated manufacturing, we deliver cost-optimized AC/DC and DC/DC converters without compromising quality or reliability.

A prime example is our R-78K series of non-isolated DC/DC converters, which delivers up to 96% efficiency, supports input ranges up to 36V, and operates at 90°C without derating—all while being more affordable than previous generations. This reflects our commitment to both technical excellence and market-driven value.

Q2) How significant is the Indian market for RECOM, and what are your plans for expansion or collaboration here ?

India is one of the fastest-growing markets for power conversion, driven by renewable energy adoption, industrial automation, railways, automotive, and emerging energy technologies. RECOM recognizes this momentum and is deeply committed to long-term collaboration with India customers.

We offer a comprehensive portfolio of power products tailored for diverse applications and work closely with distributors to ensure smooth supply and strong partnerships. To reinforce this, we have established a local Field Application Engineer (FAE) in Bangalore, providing hands-on support from design stage to EMC qualification. This proximity helps us build strong relationships with R&D engineers and foster trust for long-term success.

Furthermore, RECOM is flexible in delivering customized solutions that address India’s unique requirements—be it specific power demands, challenging environmental conditions, or price sensitivity. This adaptability is essential to gaining and sustaining market share.

Q3)  You serve a wide range of sectors—from medical to industrial automation to automotive. How do your solutions adapt to these different verticals ?

RECOM positions itself as a one-stop power conversion partner. Our wide-ranging product portfolio and global support infrastructure allow us to serve industries with vastly different requirements—whether it’s the strict compliance needs of medical, the rugged demands of automotive, or the efficiency-driven focus of industrial automation.

What truly differentiates RECOM is our ability to understand the pain points of each application. We don’t just supply products—we support the entire process, from initial system design and component selection to debugging and EMC qualification of the final product.

This holistic approach ensures that customers can rely on RECOM as a single point of contact for all power conversion needs, which ultimately builds confidence and long-term trust.

Q4) What’s your long-term vision for RECOM in the Indian market in the next 5–10 years ?

India is on a path of sustained economic growth over the next decade, and RECOM aims to grow in tandem with this momentum. Our vision is to achieve annual growth of 20–25% in the India market, supported by our commitment to innovation, local presence, and customer-centric solutions.

With our expanding portfolio, strong technical support, and willingness to adapt to local needs, we are confident that RECOM will play an increasingly vital role in powering India’s next wave of industrial and technological advancements.
