Electronics Test Equipment Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in project planning activities, including evaluating development costs and timelines.

• Design and develop embedded hardware solutions, covering microcontroller-based systems, peripheral interfaces, and power circuitry.

• Develop automated and semi-automated electronic test equipment for product validation and manufacturing applications.

• Create and maintain firmware and software required for operating test equipment.

• Define and document testing requirements and procedures.

• Contribute to Design-for-Test (DFT) reviews and ensure compliance with internal standards.

• Support PCB layout activities by providing guidance on PCB design practices and layer stack-up requirements.

• Assist with prototyping, assembly, and testing of locally developed hardware solutions.

• Design cable harnesses and related interconnect solutions.

• Prepare technical documentation for equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Provide technical support to production teams regarding test equipment usage and performance.

• Work closely with external vendors to develop and manufacture custom electrical assemblies when needed.

Mandatory Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded hardware and firmware development.

• Strong background in microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded firmware development.

• Proficiency in embedded programming using C/C++.

• Experience with automation and scripting tools, such as Python, for testing and validation purposes.

• Hands-on experience in designing and developing electronic test equipment for validation and manufacturing environments.

• Practical knowledge of schematic design using Altium Designer or similar EDA tools.

• Experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation of embedded hardware systems.

• Familiarity with laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.

• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

• Good computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with PCB layout design or working closely with PCB layout engineering teams.

• Exposure to manufacturing environments and production test support activities.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional and globally distributed engineering teams.

• Ability to present technical updates and project progress to engineering stakeholders on a regular basis.
