Senior Electronic Engineer

Role:

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will play a hands-on technical role in converting creative toy ideas into practical, high-quality electronic products. You will represent Mattel at manufacturing locations, ensuring products meet targets for cost, quality, performance, safety, and timelines throughout development, testing, and production.
You will work closely with the Electronics Design, Mechanical, Program Management, and Quality teams, along with external manufacturing partners, to deliver safe, reliable, and engaging electronic toys across Mattel’s product portfolio.
The role reports to the Associate Manager – Electronic Engineering and involves regular travel within India to manufacturing sites, with occasional international travel based on project requirements.

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
*Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
*3–6 years of practical experience in electronic design, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
*Good knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
*Strong understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers (8–32 bit, ARM or equivalent).
*Experience in embedded software development using assembly and high-level programming languages.
*Proven ability to take products from concept through development to mass production, preferably in consumer electronics.
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with different teams.
*Good communication skills and confidence in working with manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders.
*Willingness to travel within India (around 50–60%) to manufacturing and partner locations.

Preferred Skills:
*Experience in the toy industry or other regulated consumer products.
*Knowledge of electromechanical, mechatronic, or animatronic systems.
*Exposure to audio engineering, RF, communication systems, or signal processing.
*Familiarity with TFT/OLED displays, MEMS sensors, microphones, and wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
*Experience supporting pilot or production builds, test planning, and factory-level debugging.
*Previous experience working with global vendors and cross-functional teams across Asia, India, or the USA.
