Boundary scan technology specialist XJTAG has recently announced that DFT Assistant for Altium Designer is a free software extension that will be increasing the design for test of the PCB design systems. As per the DFT assistant that engineers will be free to use any of the extensions to check up the boundary chains with the terminated and the connected units at the capture stage . This will detect and protect the failure earlier and thus will be saving the money. Its very first prototype has been manufactured readily to develop the software where more tests will be performed
According to the company, DFT Assistant will be basically having two key elements in it the Chain Checker and the Access Viewer. Chain checker will be putting eyes on the errors in the JTAG scan such as that of incorrectly connected Test Access Ports.
