Emissions scandal: Volkswagen to recall 3.23 lakh vehicles in India

The German auto manufacturer major company Volkswagen  will be recalling its 3.23 lakh vehicles from India after the government has ordered the company to be found guilty in diesel engines defeat devices to cheat on the emission  tests. The  company has voluntary recalled 3.23 lakh vehicles that were fitted with the E189 engine as said by the senior government official.  A meeting was recently held between the executives and the officials to talk over the heavy industries as per the report submitted to the Apex automotive testing agency ARAI.

According to ARAI the diesel cars were seen manufactured in India by the Volkswagen were having Engine E189 fitted into them as the defeat device that may actuallly lead to excess nitrogen oxide emission levels in the on road vehicles. Volkswagen has already taken on its shoulder that 11 million diesel vehicles were been recalled worldwide to fit the software . It has also faced fine of USD 18 billion in the US.
